About the project

Artists Franny Swann and Ros Barker have had their proposal for a project to celebrate Farningham’s history accepted by KCC’s Kent Cultural Baton. www.kentculturalbaton.com They have chosen to recreate the fun of the ancient Horse Fair that was once held on Market Meadow. On June 11th they installed a field of Hobby Horses made by and for Farningham residents, businesses and friends of Framingham the project will run alongside Farningham Village Fete.

The Farningham Hobby Horses will travel around Kent by invitation and be photographed by me (Sarah Medway) at each location. One day it's hopeful there will be a book of their journey.

As well as photographing the Hobby Horses on their travels around Kent, I have also contributed a hobby horse, mine was made from a couple of copies of Design Week, quite fitting, I thought, being a graphic designer and part of my work involving paper!
